Annual Skywarn Recognition Day (Dec 3 00z-24z).

The date is quickly approaching for the Annual Skywarn Recognition Day (Dec 3 00z-24z). This is a nationwide event involving National Weather Service offices all over the country. The event is to pay tribute to SKYWARN volunteers who during severe weather events, provide critical information to the NWS. It is a 24-hour operation where NWS offices exchange weather information with Amateur Radio operators all over the world. See *http://hamradio.noaa.gov* for all the details.

NWS Sacramento is seeking the help of a local club or group of volunteers who would like to participate in the event. In the past, we have set up operations in the parking lot behind our office. Think of it as a "mini-field day" to know what is needed (radios, antennas, tents or tarps, generators, lights, etc along with operators). All modes and frequencies are available for the event. > If you or your club would like to participate in this fun event, please let myself or Kathy Hoxsie know (via e-mail or phone) asap. I will then schedule up a meeting to further discuss the details of the event (or we can incorporate it into your club's monthly meeting).

Please pass this email on to others you think may be interested and I look forward to hearing from you.
