Minutes from the September 17 Yolo ARES meeting

1. PUBLIC SERVICE RADIOS update
Gary, WA6TQJ, give a report on his success of programming the public service radios that were donated by the county to Yolo ARES. He has successfully programmed 8 radios. These will be available for use by operators at public service events and by ARES operators.
2. PACKET BBS
Joe, AG6QO, gave an excellent presentation of the PACKET Radio BBS that he is assembling.
PLans are moving forward to place two nodes on Berryessa Peak.
The BBS is on 144.370
The Raspberry Pi computer and PiTNC will support the BBS and message forwarding throughout California and and eventually throughout the world.

3. Field Day Recap
Gary, WA6TQJ, presented and great slide show on Yolo Amateur RAdio Society, and Yolo ARES Field Day at the UC Davis airport.
