Greg (KG6SJT) chaired the meeting in Darrin’s (K9RTY) absence.

Licensing Session: Reported that a licensing testing session will be held on December 11th in conjunction with BARK. So far, 20 people have signed up.

Community Events: Gary (WA6TQJ) reported on the Princess Promenade that was held on October 3rd. There were about 500 riders & runners participating in this event that was held at the American River Bikeway in Sacramento. Sacramento ARES and Yolo ARES handled event communications. The Foxy Fall was held last Saturday, October 16th. There was good participation in this event.

Volunteer Time Sheets: ARES members are reminded to fill out the volunteer time sheets on www.yoloares.org. Please enter your time by the end of each month.

UC Davis Update: The UC Davis ham club is going through a transition with several staffing changes in the emergency services department. Diana Cox is moving to another position in the IT Department. John Berg is going to assume some of her responsibilities in the interim.

Congratulations to Bill (K6KN) who was recently elected to the board of the Berryessa Area Radio Klub (BARK).

Wes (WS6Z) is developing a training exercise program that will involving getting in a mobile, answering questions over the air on topics will involve GPS, ICS-213, map use, understanding latitude and longitude. Discussed the optimal time to start the training exercises; prefer a fair weather day. Participants will use cars. Wes will write an outline and send an email to club members to determine interest and to select the preferred date. October 30 or 31 were suggested as possible dates. It was suggested that the event be written up for QST afterwards.

Wes (WS6Z) is setting up a new mailing list for Yolo Ares for general announcements (operators@yoloares.org). This new list will permit emails that include attachments.

Larry (WD6FXR) provided an update on SkyWarn. He noted information and an educational course on SkyWarn is available at www.norcalskywarn.com. Larry also demonstrated his go kit (pictures will be posted to the Yolo ARES Web site.)

The next meeting will be held November 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Red Cross in Woodland.
