LICENSING TESTING SESSION
KG6SJT (Greg) reported that ARES and BARK are partnering to host a Ham radio licensing test session on February 13, starting at 7:30 a.m., at the Yolo County Red Cross. Contact K6WLS (Ken) if you plan to take an exam; however walk-ins are welcome.
EXAM STUDY CLASSES
Discussed the possibility of hosting a class for those studying for their Extra License exam. Consensus seemed to be that a readiness class for the General exam might be of more interest.
K9RTY (Darrin) will send out an email advising those who might be interested to contact K6KN (Bill).
DAVIS DOUBLE CENTURY
Double Century is in May and the event organizers will be seeking ham radio operator volunteers. Complete details are on the Davis Bike Club Web site.
DAVIS FIRE DEPARTMENT
KG6SJT (Greg) reported that the Davis Fire Department is interested in getting training for technician licenses, utilizing ARES members as the trainers. There would be no charge for this training. Also reported that the antennas are up at the Davis Police Department in addition to all of the Davis Fire Departments.
KE6GCV (Todd) reported that the ARRL board has instructed the ARRL staff to seek a change in Section 97.113(a)(3) of the FCC rules to permit amateurs, on behalf of an employer, to participate in emergency preparedness and disaster drills that include amateur operations.
K9RTY (Darrin) encouraged members to check their profile information on the CAHAN Web site (Cahan.ca.gov) and updated it if necessary.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
